Captain Kidd - 1691
The large white house in the foreground is Kidd's, and the gate at the end stood at the corner of Pearl and Wall. On the Southwest corner of the intersection of Pearl and Wall Streets was the home of the famous pirate Captain Kidd. Castello Plan - 1660
The first street map of manhattan, commissioned by Dutch Governor Peter Stuyvesant. The ramparts of Wall Street are seen at right. Statue of George III - Bowling Green - July 9th, 1776
One mile up Broadway, George Washington reads aloud the newly written Declaration of Independence:“when in the course of human events . . . . ” At this seminal moment in American history, the crowd went wild.
